SMTP Email: SMTP Settings for Gmail

SMTP Email: SMTP Settings for Gmail

Google's Gmail, a free web-based e-mail service, may be configured to send and receive e-mail using an email client application. In order to use Gmail as a SMTP server, both the Gmail account and the email client installed on the computer (such as Outlook) must be configured. Normally, when Gmail is configured to send email via SMTP, it is also configured to receive e-mail via the POP/POP3 protocol. In other words, if SMTP is configured, POP/POP3 is also configured.

Following settings have to be made for using Gmail SMTP:

1. Gmail SMTP server address: smtp.gmail.com
2. Gmail SMTP user name: Your full Gmail address (e.g.
example@gmail.com)
3. Gmail SMTP password: Your Gmail password
4. Gmail SMTP port: 465
5. Gmail SMTP TLS/SSL required: yes
6. SMTP Authentication: Yes
7. SMTP Security: SSL
